The average person has 692,040 hours in their lifetime. For each year we are here on earth we have 525,600 minutes. Time is one of our most precious assets. A resource we cannot ever get back. What are you doing with those minutes?
Highly successful individuals constantly evaluate how they spend their time. They evaluate what can best be delegated or deleted so they can focus their energy on doing what they do best, growing themselves, and growing their businesses. When you delegate everything that does not require you, you also have time for creativity, rest and play, and important time with loved ones.
It is easy to get lost in the details because crossing off items on a checklist can feel productive and comfortable. Doing tasks that don’t require the best of you, don’t challenge you, or require you to get out of your comfort zone still feels like you did something. It is easy to shrink back into these tasks and make excuses to yourself that you are getting things accomplished, but you are not really moving forward, not moving the needle in your business or life in exponential ways like you could be if your activity was laser-focused on working in your own unique genius.
According to an article by Aaron Ross in Pebblestorm, “Your Unique Genius inspires you. It is a mashup of your talents and enjoyments, done in a way that adds meaning to your life by making a difference for others.” It is not only doing the things that we do best, or working in our strengths, but also what brings you joy and fulfillment.
Don’t just complete tasks for the sake of doing them. Prioritize the most meaningful and most impactful tasks that bring you closer to your goal, and make sure those get your best energy. You also feel the most inspired because you are living in your strengths doing things that fuel you, not just crossing things off the list .
