Your uniqueness is your magic that only you can share with the world. Have the courage to say no to busy, and yes to working in your unique genius. This is how you can most significantly fuel your soul, grow your life, and impact the most lives.
When you are working in your unique genius, you are working on your strengths and feel like you are working towards your life purpose. You are in a state of flow that naturally attracts and more powerfully influences clients and audiences, and you produce higher quality work with less effort. You make the greatest impact in people’s lives and in the world when you are working in what authentically inspires you.
In a 2020 article in Forbes, Laura Garnett, TedX speaker, and performance psychologist describes ‘Zone of Genius’ as “the sweet spot between what you’re great at and what fulfills you at work.” Garnett works with CEOs and executives to find their zone of genius and work in it most effectively. When you can work in your strengths, skills that you have a level of mastery at, and are passionate about what you do, you are inflow. You accomplish more and enjoy your work. When you operate in your zone of genius “work is fun, exhilarating, and meaningful.”
Finding your unique genius and intentionally living in it each day is so important. This not only prevents burnout in your career and in your life, but it advances your success more rapidly. When you continue to work in your zone, you are energized to do and achieve more.
Successful people don’t do everything themselves and delegate tasks others can do for them so that they can protect their time and energy and be most efficient in moving towards their goals. In a 2014 Medium article, Cammi Pham states, “It’s important for us to realize we can seek help when we need it. Sometimes it’s impossible to do everything ourselves. It‘s better to let someone, or a team, share the work, giving you more time to focus on the most important tasks.”
By not doing things that do not require your own strengths, and delegating everything else, you can spend more time working on your business and not in your business. You can create new avenues of success instead of being wrapped up in the mundane.
In his book The Illusion of Money, Kyle Cease writes, “We have to be motivated by an inner intention instead of our external goals. Otherwise, we’ll be a slave to those goals and will miss out on the opportunity to truly express ourselves. If you don’t lead with an inner intention that is driving you forward and listening to the inspiring creativity of your heart then you will be victim to the external results and opinions of other people.”
When you feel connected to the purpose in your soul instead of working towards a society-driven goal, that is what drives you and where your unique creativity flows from.
